Standard Nomenclature

The International Society for Transgenic Technologies (ISTT) and the associated scientific journal Transgenic Research, would like to encourage all colleagues to adhere and follow adequately the standard nomenclature rules when describing mouse models.

The Mouse Genome Informatics Database is the authoritative source of official names for mouse genes, alleles, and strains. Nomenclature follows the rules and guidelines established by the International Committee on Standardized Genetic Nomenclature for Mice
