History

The International Society for Transgenic Technologies (ISTT) was founded in Spain (European Union), in January 2006. In 2014, the Society moved to the United States, and is now registered as the ISTT, Inc., a non-for-profit society. Below we detail the history of the Board of Directors and milestones of the early history of the society until its registration as ISTT Inc.

Early history of the Society

Date	EVENT
3 Mar 2015	The dissolution of ISTT-Spain is officially registered at the National Registry of Spanish Associations, completing the move to the United States.
7 Oct 2014	At TT2014, the ISTT membership approves dissolution of the ISTT registered in Spain. The first General Assembly for ISTT, Inc. is held.
2 Sep 2014	ISTT, Inc. registration with the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is received. The ISTT, Inc. is fully registered as a NFP (not-for profit) association.
21 May 2013	The first legal step to incorporate the ISTT in the USA is completed by registering the Certificate of Incorporation with the US Tax Authorities.
6 Jan 2014	The ISTT, Inc. bylaws are registered with the state of New York.
26 Feb 2013	The ISTT General Assembly, at TT2013, approves the proposal to move the Society to the state of New York in the USA^#.
12 April 2006	The ISTT is assigned the registration number 586922 with the National Book-Registry of Associations in Spain.
18 Jan 2006	The ISTT is formally registered at the National Book-Register of Associations in Spain. The ISTT is officially founded.
2 Jan 2006	The Founding Members* agree to legally register the ISTT.
Nov-Dec 2005	The ISTT bylaws are written.
24 Nov 2005	The ISTT Logo is established as a sketch of the injection of a pronuclear embryo.
12 Sep 2005	At TT2005, the attendees agree to create the ISTT. Lluís Montoliu and Johannes Wilbertz are nominated as interim President and Vice-President of the Society.
Jan-Sep 2005	The first discussions to establish a Transgenic Technology society are initiated by Johannes Wilbertz, Nelson Khoo and Lluís Montoliu.
15, 16 April 1999	First Trans-Tech (TT) Meeting is held at Karolinska Institute, hosted by Johannes Wilbertz.
