My research has involved mammalian evolution and genetic hypertension in rats.  Most recently, I am a scientific curator for the Mouse Genome Database (MGD) and have become adept at the practical application of the rules of the International Committee on Standardized Genetic Nomenclature to name mouse genes, alleles, and strains.
